Hello. A little bit about me and why I run…
I’m not the world’s best athlete, sportsman or whatever you want to call it, but I do OK for myself. I’ve been running on and off for the last few years and only started taking it seriously during 2017 when I signed myself up to the Gateshead 10km.
Why did I sign myself up for a 10km run? Purely to see if I could do it and thankfully, I managed! I set two personal bests that day; my fastest 10km time (66 minutes) and my longest distance ran in one go (10km).
Now I enjoy running and try to go a few times a week. I also discovered virtual running and decided that it was a good way for me to keep up with the sport. It is an opportunity for me to earn more medals at a fraction of the cost of an organised running event, plus I don’t have to jostle for position at the start!
I started this blog in order to keep track of my virtual races as well as to share what I have discovered to the rest of the running world (if anyone is interested). The only information I could find on virtual running was that from the event organisers. I thought it would be good to share the views of virtual running from that of the virtual runner – me!
I also write a travel blog about my adventures which can be found here:
Enjoy, and if you think there is a virtual race I should sign up for, let me know!
